Effervescent and light-bodied with candied-fruit acidity. A clean example of carbonic maceration.

Finca Los Naranjos began in 2015 as a project shaped by a group of high school friends in Apaneca , El Salvador. When they took on the farm it had been abandoned for many years and was in disrepair. Their work has transformed it into a thriving landscape that supports more than 200 families in the surrounding communities, growing coffee under forest shade on volcanic slopes.

Gesha traces back to Ethiopia and reached Central America via Costa Rica in the 1950s, spreading through the region long before Panama brought it into the global spotlight. In El Salvador, the variety can show lifted, Ethiopian-like aromatics and a tea-like structure. Here, fermenting whole cherry in a CO2-rich environment builds sweet, candied fruit character while keeping the cup clean, floral, and light.

John ★★★★★

The effervescent fizz on the first sip is genuinely surprising, and that candied-fruit note lingers just long enough to make you want another cup. I brewed it as a straight shot and it held its light body perfectly, no bitterness sneaking in at the end. Clean, bright, and totally worth the splurge f

Opened one of these after my usual dark roast and the lightness genuinely surprised me—it’s almost sparkling on the tongue, that candied-fruit note carries through clean to the last sip. Only downside is I wish the box came with more than twelve, because I’m already rationing them.

Henry ★★★★★

The candied-fruit acidity hits right after the first sip, and it stays surprisingly clean instead of turning sour. I was skeptical about a light-bodied espresso, but it’s become my go-to for mornings when I want something bright without heaviness.
