A clean Marshel with a pleasing balance of acidity and sweetness, showcasing an elegant interplay of yellow and green fruit notes.

The Marshel varietal generated considerable interest when it won the Peru Cup of Excellence in 2019 with an impressive score of 92.28, outperforming more established winning varietals such as Gesha. The genetic lineage of this coffee is still debated but it is most likely a rare Catimor-derived varietal. What is clear is that it appears to be highly disease resistant, which is unusual for a varietal capable of producing such exceptional cup quality.

I've been brewing this as my morning pour-over and that yellow fruit note really comes through on the nose, while the sweetness lingers just long enough on the finish. The acidity keeps it lively without ever turning sharp, which is exactly what I look for in a daily driver. Definitely signing up fo

The balance here is spot-on—that interplay of yellow and green fruit notes keeps every sip interesting without tipping too sweet or tart. I’ve already brewed three cups this week and the clean finish makes it dangerously easy to go back for more.

That yellow-green fruit note is so distinctive, it's like tasting a crisp orchard in a cup. The balance between the bright acidity and the sweet finish held up beautifully from the first sip to the last, even as it cooled. This one's earned a permanent spot in my monthly rotation.
