Uganda ist einer der wenigen Orte weltweit, an dem Kaffee noch wild wächst, insbesondere in den Wäldern der zentralen und westlichen Regionen. Während des Großteils des 20. Jahrhunderts schränkten eine streng kontrollierte Kolonialherrschaft und darauf folgende Phasen politischer Instabilität die Produktionskapazität des Landes ein. In jüngerer Zeit haben Initiativen von Organisationen wie der Uganda Coffee Development Authority dazu beigetragen, die Entwicklung der Branche neu auszurichten und Ugandas wachsenden Ruf für hochwertige Chargen wie diese Mischung aus SL14, SL28 und anderen regionalen Landrassen-Sorten zu festigen.
